Promoting payment mechanism of withholding from income of central government agency employees, various income taxes and public utility fees in order to reduce the number of Treasury checks issued.

The payment mechanism allows for the withholding from income of central government agency employees, including income taxes, public servant insurance, labor insurance, national health insurance, new labor pension, and public service pension fund; and withholding various income taxes and public utility fees. This mechanism reduces the labor used in making payments at financial institutions in person with Treasury checks or cash, diminishes the number of Treasury checks issued and postage stamps used, and saves a considerable sum of the Treasury expenditure.

By applying Internet technology in cross-agency collaboration, sharing information and resources, and streamlining payment procedures, the mechanism has saved over NT$5.7 million in Treasury expenditure in over 160,000 payments annually, reducing the number of Treasury checks issued, and enhancing the diversity, security, and convenience of Treasury fund payment. A total of 32,007 payments have been made through the mechanism for 2024 as of the end of March.
