Notes about making donations to the National Treasury

1. If you wish to designate your donations for a specific purpose, please contact the government agency that has jurisdiction over your purpose; for instance, contact the Ministry of Health and Welfare for social welfare donations and the Ministry of Education for donations for disadvantaged students. Undesignated donations will be placed under the unified collection and allocation of the National Treasury. The procedures for payment of donations are as follows.

a. Complete a National Treasury Pay-In Slip and bring cash (or check payable on demand) to a national treasury agent bank to make your  donation.

b. Bring a remittance voucher and cash (or check payable on demand) to any financial institution to make your donation.

c. Make your donation via “e-bill National Payment Network” with your Financial Chip Card and a card reader.

2. To make it easier for donors to claim their donations on their individual income tax returns, the National Treasury Administration, Ministry of Finance, has since 2015 fiscal year transmitted electronically donation information to tax collection authorities. If donations are made with personal identification numbers, donation deduction information is available electronically when a donor files his or her individual income tax returns via Internet or enquiries about data on various incomes.

3. According to Article 6 of Enforcement Rules of the Charity Donations Destined For Social Welfare Funds Implementation Regulations, the government agency (institution) that conduct open investigations in accordance with Article 6 of the Regulations shall publish the basic information of the designation or name of the donor, the date of donation, its purpose and the handling status periodically. Donations to the National Treasury are subject to open investigations in compliance with relevant regulations above.
