Consumer Vouchers
In order to reduce the impact of the global financial crisis in 1997, the government had adopted a measure of providing citizens consumer vouchers. The Ministry of Finance was responsible for budget preparation as well as the following reimbursement.
These consumer vouchers were distributed by the Ministry of Interior on January 18, 2009, not only effectively stimulating and expanding the domestic consumption but also enabling the domestic economy to regain its growth momentum. Each citizen well received the consumer vouchers with a valid date of September 30, 2009, face values of NT$200 and NT$500, and a total sum of NT$3,600.
To prevent the circulation of any illicit vouchers, these consumer vouchers had been finished with seven anti-counterfeiting features including variable inks printing, hidden texts, tiny texts, two-sided over printing, plum flower water marks, grave tactile impression stamping, and filaments with fluorescence property.
