The situations under which one can apply for the replacement of the treasury check are as follows:
- The handwriting is blurred.
- The check is stained.
- The issue date of the check exceeds one year but has not yet been remitted to the National Treasury.
- The original payee died or is de facto impossible to be found.
- The payment agency returned the overdue treasury check which is not required to be paid.
- The payment agency withdraws the money to the court, and it may apply to the National Treasury Agency for a replacement of the check with the name of the withdrawing court as the payee.
- If the national treasury check is under provisional attachment or provisional disposition by the court, and the court’s enforcement is served decreeing payment to the court-appointed payee, the appointed payee may contact the National Treasury Agency to apply for a replacement of the check with the name of the court-appointed payee as the payee.
